Our story began in 1974 when Dick and June Scoggins founded Scoggins Real Estate in Kokomo, Indiana. Built on a foundation of honesty, strong relationships, and exceptional customer service, the company quickly became one of the most trusted names in the Kokomo real estate market. In 1988, Kevin and Nancy Hardie acquired the company and continued building on that reputation, helping thousands of buyers and sellers while expanding services throughout Howard County and the surrounding communities.
In 2000, the company became The Hardie Group, and in 2004 we made the decision to become an independent real estate brokerage. That independence has allowed us to adapt to changing market conditions, invest in innovative technology and marketing, support the success of our agents, and provide personalized strategies for every client we serve. From first-time homebuyers to experienced investors, every client receives guidance tailored to their unique goals.
In 2006, Andy Hardie joined the family business, learning every aspect of the brokerage while developing a passion for leadership, innovation, and serving others. Today, Andy proudly serves as Owner and Managing Broker, leading a third generation of family ownership while continuing the tradition of trusted service that has defined The Hardie Group for more than five decades.
Like every long-standing business, our journey has included both milestones and challenges. One of the most significant came after the devastating Kokomo tornado in 2013. Rebuilding alongside our community strengthened our appreciation for the people we serve and reinforced our commitment to helping families and businesses move forward through every season of life.
